Question:
Hi, I just noticed a small (about the size of the lead tip on a pencil) bump on my skin down near my genitals. It looks like it could be a whitehead pimple and its just one of them. No clusters or others located. It isn't on my vagina, but it is on the skin between my thigh and my vagina (not on the vagina, but just on my regular skin). It feels hard. Could this just be an ingrown hair or pimple? I was told this could be a genital wart. But then I was told it couldn't be because its not located on my genitals and you can't get genital warts if they aren't on your genitals. Could somebody clear this up for me? This way I can go to a doctor straight away and ask to get tested for that specific STD. Thank you!
Answers:There are Bartholin's gland cysts which would be on the inside of your labia; folliculitis (infected hairs) could also cause this. You can go to WebMd.com and type in both of these words and read up on each condition and see if your symptoms match and the treatments recommended there. Neither of these is an STD and needs no testing. It could also be just a pimple or ingrown hair.
It is probably just a small cyst. If it were an ingrown hair or whitehead you could pinch it out.
