im so embarrassed I have jsut discovered that I have genital warts! Im pregnant! will they harm my baby?

Question:

I am horrified. I have never had an std in my life! has my partner slept with someone else?

Answers:

You will need to have a c-section because you can't give birth vaginally or else it would hurt your baby. If you've just gotten them and have only been sleeping with your partner, then most likely your partner cheated on you.

god bless.

Genital Warts question...?

Question:

Is it normal for genital warts to be very itchy? If so, is there anything that I can do to make the itch stop? I think what I have is warts but my doctor cant get me in til next month. I have no insurance the clinic that I go to is the only place that I can go. Also, has anyone had any luck with any herbal or over the counter remedies to remove the warts?

Answers:

Do not attempt to remove genital warts yourself. That is something better left to the professionals.

e. Get a regular exercise, sleep and rest

Make sure you get tested for HPV as soon as possible

Hpv, genital warts. I was blind to all of this..?

Question:

This is really important.. I just want people who think they could answer my questions read this. And trust me, im going through the process of getting insurance back after stopping school, so I will go to the doctor as soon as I can. As immature as this was around 2 in a half years years ago.. maybe a little over I had been at my third sexual partner. I was 17 and not thinking at all, most were my boyfriends but I never waited long enough to know who they were.. I remember developing bumps on genital area.. I stopped having sex, and didnt open my mouth to anyone. I knew something was wrong with me but I had never been to a gyno, my mom was so strict... I just kept hush.. It happened probably for maybe a little under a year, until slowly they went away.. In may of 2009 I had my first gyno appt, being 19 years old. my pap came back abnormal and I was scheduled to come back to get the cancer screening thing done. Almost a week before that I was kicked off my moms insurance due to I STOPPED GOING TO SCHOOL. I read some girls thing talking about this and I didnt realize how serious of a situation I have in my hands.. I never read anything about this, I was immature about the whole situation. I just wanted to know im guessing it was genital warts, since they went away for so long... Are the odds on me, meaning I probably have an HPV virus inside of me? And if so, I've been carrying it for a long time.. What are the chances that it has became something way worse? Cancerous? Thanks...

Answers:

This is the kind of thing that needs to be taken care of even if you don't have health insurance. Since it's only been a few months since your abnormal Pap smear if this is precancerous changes it probably hasn't had much time to advance, so don't be scared that you've waited too long. However, do sort out how to get back to the doctor soon (Planned Parenthood or an STD clinic might be able to see you for a lower appointment fee), whether you get back on your parents' insurance or pay out of pocket (find out costs ahead of time and see if they give a discount for uninsured patients). Hopefully it was just an abnormal smear without high-risk HPV, and you'll just be out a little cash, but have much greater peace of mind.

There is no way anyone can diagnose your condition on YA. HPV is a possibility, so is herpes, but even if that is not the case, genital warts can be very serious. Go back and get the tests done as soon as you can. The longer you delay the less likely you can be treated effectively IF it is cancer.

You should get the HPV shot Gardisil. Since you already have HPV, it's especially important to get it now to prevent your chances of it developing into something worse (cervical cancer)... You should try an agency like Planned Parenthood or something. They can help you and it's cheap health care for women.

Try here.

Take care, your not alone, and guys should always wear protection, and that one special person in your life, like a year after you are seriously dating, you can share whats going on, you need not make this announcment to everyone you date and possibly sleep with, they too are not going to be alerting you to their health issues. Id not want to be a single person at this time in society, its very sad, and you are more likely in the majority of society if you have something than in the minority. I wish you all the best.

genital warts?? Someone said this earlier.. anyone else know.?

Question:

A girl earlier said if you get hpv/genital warts.. It can go away for good on its own? Anyone know anything of this?

Answers:

All types of genital HPV â€Â" human papilloma virus â€Â" can go away on their own. Sometimes genital warts go away on their own in a few months â€Â" but remember, just because you don't have any visible warts, you may still have the virus that causes them, so you still have to be careful about protecting yourself and your partner. So always use a condom or female condom to reduce the risk of infection.

Yes it can. Though most people with warts need a little a help. Freezing them off, or Aldara, and usually the warts never return. Some people have a recurrence, but for the vast majority of people, the virus is cleared with in 1-2 years and they never have another recurrence. This isn't like herpes where many people have continual outbreaks. It's very rare for someone to have continual wart outbreaks throughout a lifetime.

Treating genital warts with TCA (trichloroacetic acid)

Genital warts can sometimes be treated with a topical treatment called Trichloroacetic acid or TCA. This clear liquid is applied by a qualified health care professional once a week until the warts are completely gone after a few weeks. The first application of TCA causes the warts to start to shrink and turn white. This first application can also cause some stinging that can lead to some discomfort. As it is mensioned above, TCA can only be applied by a professional. The reason is that, if not used properly, this solution can cause some severe irritation in the area surrounding the treated lesion. However, you can safely use TCA 50 % to treat your genital warts at home without risking to harm yourself. The thing is, TCA 50% can guarantee very good results in killing genital warts, but since its strength is weakened, it can't harm the skin surrounding the treated areas. You can click here to learn more about TCA 50%.Related articles :Treating genital warts at home :TCA and genital warts :Need More?
